For most people, Bill Gates is a business and investment magnate and the co-founder of the famous Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill Gates is worth $115 billion. Most people know him as the founder of leading Microsoft brand with his colleague Paul Allen.
However, after starting Microsoft and seeing the brand has sold tremendously, Bill Gates sold much of his shares and remained with less than 1% of what he owned before. Last year, he joined the $100 billion club and was known among the famous and wealthiest men running the world’s most prominent charitable organizations.
Bill was born on October 28 of 1955, in Seattle, Washington. He grew up in a family of middle–class livelihood. His siblings are Libby and Kristianne. Libby is the little doll, while the other is Bill’s older sister. His father, William Gates, is a man little known to many; he is known as the shy and enthusiastic law youth who luckily met his wife Mary Maxwell and started dating till marriage, which resulted in a son who’d later become a business icon.
It’s said Bill’s leadership and business skills seem to have come from both parents. While William is known to have been a man of high interest in law, he was a business-minded person as well. As for the mother, Mary Maxwell, she is famed for her love for athletics, and charisma in business ideas. The two, Bill and Mary, showed their first signs of success and business competitiveness when they started their first project that became a success. It was a coordinated family program that held games at their summer home on Puget Sound.
After that, Bill involved himself in playing games such as Board Games, where he started risking in gambling and more. He also showed excellent signs of analyzing things before taking part. This encouraged him to keep going with every project and idea in mind.
Consequently, Bill’s mother, Mary, was a teacher who is known to have devoted herself to helping kids and ensured a closer relationship with her husband at the same time. She also worked at Interstate Bank, which is known to have been started by her father, and also worked as a respected employee at the United Way & International Business Machines.
Better yet, she is thought to have helped Gates and their son build excellent customer relationships when she could take them in volunteering programs and community services. This helped Gates and Bill create a bond with people of different backgrounds as well as learn how to speak in public and more.
While others relate Bill’s success with connections and many things, he made it clear in an interview that what made him become who he is was grit and intensive reading. Even today, he runs a successful podcast show called the Big Questions. This is a show people ask anything they deem impossible, especially about success and money. Not to forget, Bill Gates is a man of substances when it comes to leading quotes about success and money. He says “it is not where you come from or who you know; it’s about what you want and dreams of”. Do you see the big picture in that?
When he was young, he was a book wormer. It’s not really about the school workbooks but success and money-making books he is said to have liked most. He is known to spend lots of hours referring to dozens of books like Encyclopedia and more. When he was eleven and twelve years, his parents identified his behaviors, and at the same time, Bill was among the top student in school. In fact, it is said that his reading made his parents worry their son could become a loner.
When he was thirteen, he was taken to a new school where he excelled in sciences and math but also took the lead in English and drama subjects.
Where did his Passion and Love for Computers Started?
Well, after he was taken to another school, fate was all over him when the school partnered with a company that offered computer classes for students.
At that time, his mother bought him a teletype. Bill is said to have become obsessed with what a computer could do and used much of his time typing and researching computers and more. Afterward, he developed his first game. It was a tinny programming job, but Bill’s efforts led to the tit-tac game that boosted his computer interest.
