His name may be unfamiliar to most people, but if I mention his famous clothing brand, you won’t need someone to introduce him to you again. Amancio is the founder and former CEO, and chairperson of the Inditex fashion brand. The company is best known for its chain of clothes branded as Zara and accessories.
From his brand, Inditex fashion, Ortega Led to the birth of other leading brands in fashion, such as Massimo Dutti and Pull and Bear. These brands run over seven thousand and five hundred stores worldwide. The man is worth 67.3 Billion as of today.
In 2005, Ortega was named the leading richest person in the world by then; he had defeated what most people know as the top- Bill Gates. This was led to his increase in money from his clothing businesses. Apart from his clothing and other investments, the man is known to have bought many properties, including houses and hotels around the United States and other countries. He is also a secret billionaire who keeps his presses confidential and only appears in several interviews.

When he was young, he worked in the northwest of Spain in a garment store. From this business, he saw an opportunity to start his own and worked delivering men’s shirts and serves in a tailor’s shop. He delivered clothes direct to customers, which opened for his opportunities to know what people exactly want, which helped him satisfy customers fully. He later managed to get his first store, and things got better to where he is today.
According to official reports from his company, the man controls his wealth through a holding brand situated in Spain known as Arteico.
Since 2001, his holding holder is said to have brought him a colossal amount of more than 9 billion dollars as commissions and dividends. This is according to the famous dividends dealing company called Bloomberg. According to Bloomberg, much of the money Ortega earns is spent on commercial properties in places like Partler and Pontegadea.
In 2019, the man was reported to have spent around $2 billon buying properties and paid in cash. As if that is not enough, the man has invested with his whole family. The wife is famous as well as the daughter. In many of his speeches, Ortega says he believes his children are responsible of their lives and as such, he has given them chances to follow his entrepreneurial footsteps.
Again, Ortega has a big influence in the working and controlling of a company called Coruna. It is said he controls about a third of the total monetary value of the company while the rest is controlled by his wife and daughter. His wife is known by many as Flora and the daughter Marta who are famed for their participation in business and philanthropic activities.
Again, he controls a small percentage of about five of an energy company called Enagas. He also has a stake in another brand called Telefonica tower. Based on these two brands only, he was said to be worth four hundred and forty million dollars as of 2018.As of July this year, Ortega’s assets were reported to have absorbed other brands, and his net worth reflected much than what the world knows.
